The Fourth of July is next week and we are already planning what we will be doing. The kids are excited about their annual bike parade/decorating contest. For this, they have been eying some of my Fourth of July decorations. In particular, they are convinced that the Red, White, and Blue Lighted garland is the key to their winning a prize.
The problem with this, is that I will have to take down my house decorations so they can use them for the parade, and then quickly put them back up when we get home before company arrives.
The garland isn't my only decoration that has been eyed for bike decorating though...which, is funny now that I think about it. When I initially purchased my decorations, it was just because I liked them and I wanted the kids to really be able to get excited about the holidays. Now, they too, are getting more excited about being able to decorate- whether it be helping decorate around the house or decorating their bikes. I'll post photos of their completed bikes and will be sure to let you know if they've won anything. I also have a feeling that as they get older, they are going to have more and more of a say as to what decorations we purchase and put up!
